La villa è stata realizzata nel ’700. Il primo documento che testimonia l’esistenza della costruzione è la mappa realizzata dallo studioso Boschetti nel 1729. La prima denuncia al fisco, secondo lo storico Baldan, fu fatta solo nel 1740. Grazie alla stampa realizzata da Francesco Costa è possibile osservare le differenze dell’edificio attuale rispetto all’originale; l’attuale è stato spogliato infatti di molti elementi decorativi e dello stemma che era collocato sulla facciata.
La villa è sempre appartenuta alla famiglia Pio, nel corso del ’900 però è passata di proprietà del demanio pubblico. Il nuovo ente proprietario ha adibito la costruzione prima a sede dei carabinieri, ad usi diversi, per poi lasciarla chiusa per anni in stato di totale abbandono. Nel 1966 fu sottoposta a vincolo e fu deciso di restaurarla; in quell’occasione fu staccato e restaurato anche l’affresco, sviluppato in ovale, del grande salone centrale. L’opera, raffigurante Apollo e le Muse, è stata attribuita dal Tiozzo e da altri studiosi all’artista Nicolò Bambini.

The villa was built in the 1700s. The first document that testifies to the existence of the building is the map created by the scholar Boschetti in 1729. The first report to the tax authorities, according to the historian Baldan, was made only in 1740. Thanks to the print made by Francesco Costa it is possible to observe the differences in the 'current building compared to the original; the current one has in fact been stripped of many decorative elements and the coat of arms that was placed on the facade.
The villa has always belonged to the Pio family, but during the 1900s it became the property of the public domain. The new owner body first used the building as the headquarters of the carabinieri, for different uses, and then left it closed for years in a state of total abandonment. In 1966 it was subject to restrictions and it was decided to restore it; on that occasion the fresco, developed in an oval, in the large central hall was also detached and restored. The work, depicting Apollo and the Muses, was attributed by Tiozzo and other scholars to the artist Nicolò Bambini.
